What are the key differences between computer processors manufactured by AMD and Intel? ?

I remember a time when it was a toss up between AMD and Intel in trying to decide who made the best processor. Intel clearly has pulled way ahead. What did Intel do, or AMD not do, to cause this to be?

Intel have progessed different technology's and brought out some outstanding overclocking chips...also the chipsets and motherboards (sockets) are more advnaced if you ask me.

for me... intel = expensive, great processor too..and amd = cheaper, great processor too but not 2 much than intel i7 series.. and on amd,, heat issues is better than intel..
