i am thinking about getting a computer with amd processor in it, but just curious what the equivalent is compared to intel, since i am more familiar with them. what would be comparable to the amd athlon 64 3500+ (the pentium 4, celeron, etc.?), and also for the amd sempron processor 3200+? thanks for any helpful info.i want to know what the amd processors are compared to intel's. for example is amd athlon 64 3500+ equal to pentium 4 or celeron?

For the AMD Athalon 64.http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_9485_9487%5E9492,00.htmlFor the Sepron 3200.http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_11599_11604,00.html

An Athlon 64 3500+'s Intel equivalent would be a Pentium 4 around 3.2ghz Semprons and Celerons are value based processors slower than Athlon 64's and Pentium 4's

The Athalons would be to the Pentiums and the Semprons to the Celerons. Now I like you have used Intel's exclusively, but was planning to make the change to AMD since they have been better for a while now. But low and behold Intel has released the Core 2 Duo and it is kicking the crap out of AMD, so actually that would be what I would recommend going with. E6600 is the best model for price/performance.
