Is a Intel Core I3 Processor faster than a AMD Phenom II X4?

I am building a pc and would like to know if a Intel Core i3 530 2.93Ghz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) better and faster than a AMD Phenom II X4 955 HDZ955FBGIBOX 3.2 GHz/6 MB L3/125W Processor

I doubt it...the intel is a dual core at 2.9 4GB L3 while the phenom is a quad core at 3.2 6GB L3 I would say the Phenom wins this round of AMD vs. Intel. The Passmark scores bare this out...the Phenom ranks # 71 while the i3 ranks # 199
