Will DDR3 memory work on a DDR2 memory standard motherboard?

I am choosing a new motherboard and it has DDR2 standard memory, I was wondering if DDR3 memory would work on this?

No, not unless explicitly stated in the motherboard specs. A few boards will take both the upper range of DDR2 and the lower of DDR3 (1066 mhz)

No. Sadly you are going to need the DDR2 memory for it. Go to crucial.com and use their scanner tool to find the memory for it. I've used this before and it's really helpful!Good luck and Happy Upgrading!
