A 35-year-old woman has been charged with manslaughter after another woman, 61, was attacked and later died on Monday.
Winnipeg police said the older woman was walking near Wellington Avenue and Simcoe Street around 9 a.m. Monday when she met a couple she knew, and an argument ensued. The older woman was thrown to the ground and hit her head. She died around 3 p.m. in hospital.
The suspect was arrested in the area Monday evening. The 35-year-old woman remains in custody.
She is charged with manslaughter and breach of a recognizance order.
