TECHNOLOGY: DataPath and WildBlue, HughesNet, ViaSat
DataPath, a provider of satellite and wireless communications networks, was selected by WildBlue to provide long-term operations and maintenance services. DataPath will support a network of 11 Ka-Band gateway earth stations at seven locations operated by the satellite broadband service --- On Wednesday, Hughes Network Systems unveiled its HughesNet Broadband Backup service plans. The offerings for small- and medium-sized businesses provide automatic satellite backup in the event of a landline failure --- ViaSat was awarded contracts totaling $25 million for LinkWay S2 satellite modems that will support U.S. military customers.
