HUNTSVILLE, AL —
Sherri Williams, owner of the adult store 'Pleasures', grabbed national headlines when she sued the state of Alabama for banning the sale of adult toys. Now, Williams has opened a new location near one of Huntsville's busiest intersections, and this store is like none other before.

Drive-thrus are widely considered one of the greatest convenience revolutions of modern times, and aside from the occasional missing straw or ignored request for 'no pickles', there usually aren't any surprises.

But at the new Pleasures drive-thru, a little spontaneity will be exactly what the customer is looking for. Saturday, the teller bays of an old bank will be transformed in to Pleasures' new one-stop drive-thru romance shop, where customers can pull through, order what they want from a menu and have it delivered right to the teller drawer.

Pleasures' proprietor Sherri Williams has found a new way to stimulate business. The new Pleasures location is already open, but starting on Saturday, the former bank building and its three lane drive-thru window will offer customers faster shopping from the privacy of their car, via a four-foot-tall lighted menu featuring a variety of adult toys, lubricants and stimulants.

"You know, I don't see any reason anybody shouldn't be able to come here and get whatever they want for their personal use," said one Pleasures shopper who didn't want to be identified. She told us she thought the sexy drive-thru is brilliant.

"I think it's great, I mean, people go online all the time and I'm not really concerned that much any more with the physical aspect of relationships, but when I was, this would have been a perfect place for me to come and maybe get something for my husband and myself to use," said the shopper. "I don't see anything wrong with it at all."

The new location will also feature The Intimacy Clinic, offering weekly seminars, complimentary condoms and marriage counseling.

The shopper we spoke with says it's more about the negative stigma than any real naughtiness. For her, the sexy drive-thru is harmless.

"I think it would be very nice because there's a lot of people that stand up against something like this who really would use it, if they weren't afraid of other people seeing them," she said.

Pleasures will celebrate its grand opening on Sat., Nov. 13 at 4008 University Drive in Huntsville. Sherri Williams and her "Pleasures Patrol Team" will give away T-shirts and gift cards to the first 300 people, and award three cruises to the Bahamas. Free food and beverages will be served from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m.
