This weekend we had the release of a major new file release. Many were caught off guard with the lack of explanation about the change in files. Some have damaged or think they have damaged their IHUBS trying to apply this file. We all should try and help those effected and work together to make things right.
Most of us are veterans here now.. some in a new home in the aftermath of a potential unexplained loss of a home site and the long term limbo that Sonicview has been under after litigation.
Its been a long haul and we have all been frustrated and confused at times.
I believe that this file release says allot to the power and diligence of what we have put our faith in but more the direction. Sonicview clearly showed us the strength and ability they had in the days of the 1000 and 4000 and even the growth plans with the 360 lines and the HD unit which they were the king of the hill not too long ago.
Many of you new comers who feel potentially let down perhaps and those die hard fans who have stood by SV can finally say once more that the coders are standing strong to produce a solid product that will stand over time.
Some of you are thinking ..What the F is V talking about.. I'm ****ed..
Well I and many others have been around a very long time so we have the ability of seeing the past and present from a different perspective..
In the early days of SV they were always the ones that didn't just fix a problem they changed the rules. Other boxes would fail and the SV would keep on working unaffected. As time passed we all saw a pattern in the failures of other boxes by ECMs but Sv would change rules and come out with something completely different that made this all ok. They lasted longer and worked better
The last major event was the release of the 175P in January 2009 which SV changed the coding to auto detect and fix coding change anomalies created by DN ..thereby keeping the boxes running flawless for almost 5 months while others were reprogramming weekly
Now there have been other great adjustments and changes since then but the big thing was that SV said we are not going to play the game everyone else is... We are going to create our own rules of engagement and show them and the FTA community what real coders do.
My friends the release of the 422 is an equal milestone in the SV history and arsenal of exquisite thinking. Its a step in a direction that both protects the coding, applies perfect stand alone updating and could very well change the issues we have all been waiting to be fixed.
I have long understood the incredible difficulty both in mounting this system but also the herding of its users to properly implement and use and program it properly without effecting others. Many of you really don't understand how incredibly difficult this process really is. Lets all hope that the proof is the performance and the sign of things to come.
Unfortunately this joyous event has been slightly marred by those that have had issues and I'm sorry for those that have had issues and all of us sympathize but we also need to sing out the great achievement to the coders who have done a wonderful job and showed all of us and the FTA community that SV is alive and well and kicking friggin ass.
This means that we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel that says freezing could be reduced and or beaten in the near future. It also means that SV is not dying in the pasture but changing the course of FTA. It also means that we can look forward to bigger and better things. As DN undoubtedly will send ECMs. I believe that we will see less effects and better performance.
This cycle is not new people.. So far I have counted no less than 6 cycles that FTA has survived and SV has been a big part of 4 of them.
I personally would like to commend the coders and their hard work and effort as I understand the effort and appreciate it.
Cheers and much thanks
