[General Question?] CW800s

Just wondering what people who have this box think about it. I'm thinking about getting one, (to add to my collection and give the wife something to give me "that look" about) I would like to know the ease of use and reliability of the PVR functions. I did look for ratings on this one, but didn't see any. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

the 700 and 800 are good boxes. the remote is the only down fall

I've had a CW800s for about six months now- the setup is pretty quick and simple, box is easy to use, and the picture is pretty good. The PVR function is a nice feature but I haven't had the best of luck with it. PVR performance is not consistent; sometimes it works fine, sometimes the video is fine but the audio is slightly out of synch, and sometimes it won't playback what it recorded. Possible that it is an operator problem but if I set it to record two programs using the exact same method I'll probably get two different results.

Overall for the price I'm very happy with the 800.

if you get a powered ext- harddrive it works better. pressing farward then play quickly sometimes helps. if you put it in your computer it will play fine

i don't have one i have a 600s but captive works is a reliable brand from my point of view anyway
