DISH Gets Lift

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DISH Network's hopes for a boost in HD services got a lift this morning as the Ciel II satellite took off on schedule from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Russia.

Ten minutes after launch, the Proton M/Breeze M rocket had achieved successful shutdown of the third stage, putting the satellite in a suborbital trajectory. If all goes as scheduled, the satellite will achieve its correct orbit around 6 p.m. EST.

The Ciel II is the first such satellite from Canada's Ciel Satellite Group, which is majority owned by SES AMERICOM
