How do I know if my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 driver needs to be updated.?

I just got an alienware M15x, and i noticed they came out with a new driver 12/13/10, and I'm not sure if it was installed. It says in the control center:BIOS Version012.020.000.029BIOS Date2010/05/18Is the driver out of date I'm not sure.

if they make a new one..your old one becomes old...obviously. Yes, your driver is very out of date.

Go to the manufacturer's (Alienware) website and you should be able to search for driver downloads by clicking on "Support." The site will probably ask you for your model and serial number of your PC and that will help narrow down the number of results shown. The version and date of release is usually listed. Pretty self explanatory.Don't waste money on software (such as DriverCure) that scans your computer for outdated drivers. Many of these programs have a Trojan component to them.
