I recently installed Ubuntu on my HP Compaq C542EA laptop but the in built wireless capabilities do not work. Does anyone know where I can find drivers to fix the problem (I can't get Linux drivers from HP directly). Thanks
First, make sure you are using the latest version of Ubuntu (8.04)Second, try asking this question at ubuntuforums.org . They have a very large number of people answering questions constantly.
Wireless is very difficult to configure in Linux windows base wireless adapters. You have to buy a wireless adapter make for Linux. There is a option: Install ndiswrappers to conform Linux to windows devices so that the device thinks drivers are installed.
