HERTFORDSHIRE, England, -- British police say a man who held police at bay for three hours was carrying a bomb of some kind.
Police were called to the Co-op Bank on Market Street in Watford, 20 miles northwest of central London, after a man threatened staff Thursday, the BBC reported.
The suspect eventually surrendered to police.
"An explosive device of some kind -- as yet we don't know what this is -- has been removed from this individual," a spokeswoman for the Hertfordshire police said. "Investigations into the nature of this device will continue
