A midtown Toronto school was put on "hold and secure" Monday afternoon after a man was shot nearby.
Police said the shooting occurred Monday at around noon near Auburn and Greenlaw avenues just north of Davenport Road.
Emergency crews say the 23-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and is in serious but stable condition.
Police say they believe two suspects were involved, but it isn't clear if they have been able to locate them.
The shooting occurred near Loretto College Catholic Secondary School, located on Rosemount Avenue. Toronto police placed the school in a hold and secure designation, which means business goes on as usual in the school, but no one is allowed in or out.
The hold and secure was lifted about an hour later.
