BATON ROUGE, LA- In a bizarre twist to a recent wreck, a man believed to have been killed in a traffic accident is in fact alive.

The Baton Rouge Police Department identified the victim in a pedestrian-involved crash last Tuesday night as Terry Royce, 54.

According to family members, it turns out the man who died was not Royce, but a homeless man whose family is being found.

Initially, Royce's family thought it was their loved one who was hit by a truck on Airline Highway near Victoria because they say the dead man looked a lot like Royce.

His sister, Cyndi, says it turns out Royce has been in the hospital since Oct. 30 after being hit on the head during an attack in an unrelated incident.

Cyndi Royce says once her brother was able to remember who he was he contacted a family member and surprised them all.
