Police were treating this home on the Long Plain First Nation as a crime scene.
Police near the community of Portage la Prairie, Man. are investigating what they're calling the sudden death of an infant girl.
Officers were called to the local hospital at about noon Tuesday, an RCMP spokesman said.
Investigators have also been at a home on the Long Plain First Nation, not far from Portage la Prairie.
Police would only say the baby was less than a year old.
An autopsy will be held Wednesday to determine how she died.
