LOS ANGELES, (UPI) -- Magglio Ordonez and Miguel Cabrera each homered and drove in two runs Sunday to help the Detroit Tigers post a 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ordonez stoked an RBI single and came in to score on Cabrera's first-inning blast as the Tigers jumped off to a quick 3-0 lead.
Ordonez then added a solo shot in the eighth inning to extend Detroit's lead to 4-2, enabling the Tigers to salvage one contest of a three-game inter-league series.
Rick Porcello (4-4) earned the victory, holding Los Angeles to two runs despite allowing nine hits over six innings.
Hiroki Kuroda (5-2) was touched for three runs on six hits over six innings and Xavier Paul drove in a pair of runs for the Dodgers.
