MLB: LA Dodgers 4, San Diego 3
SAN DIEGO, May 15 (UPI) -- Matt Kemp hit a two-run homer that gave Los Angeles the lead in the seventh Friday and the Dodgers won their fifth straight -- 4-3 over San Diego.
Los Angeles twice overcame a one-run deficit, but the Padres took their third lead of the game in the fifth when Tony Gwynn scored on a fielder's choice grounder from Chase Headley.
With Luke Gregerson (0-1) on the mound for San Diego, Russell Martin doubled with one out in the seventh and Kemp followed with his eighth homer of the year.
That made a winner out of Jeff Weaver (2-1), who worked the sixth inning. Ronald Belisario and Hong-Chih Kuo combined to get the Dodgers through the seventh and eighth innings, after which Jonathan Broxton needed just 12 pitches to work a perfect ninth for his fifth save.
