Need user/owner/operating manual guide for a Mvidea FS-4000 FTA receiver.

My wife and I have decided to give up the high cost of DISH or DirecTV and try FTA. I purchased a used Mvidea FS-4000 with remote and have ordered an LNB for ku band. The receiver arrived today and I hooked it up to the old DirecTV dish and the receiver showed that a strong signal was being picked up but the scan shows nothing. I assume this is due to the LNB on the DirecTV dish. Some of the features and two slots in the front of the receiver leave us a bit confused. What we need is an owners installation manual that would have come with the receiver originally. I have spent hours Googling and have come up with many files on how to upgrade or patch but NO manual. Help!!

Right here:

Thank you for the response, but neither the MvideaFS400 setup manual.doc nor the Mvidea how to guide.pdf are of any help other than updating or downloading required software. What I need is the actual guide or manual that would have come with the receiver in the first place!

Sorry, I can't help on this one. I tried searching all over for it and I can't find anything. The only things I've found are the same files we have here. I can't find a manufacturer website for the receiver and it appears that it is so old that I don't even know if they are around anymore.

Yes the receiver is old, 2005, and the company web-site is no longer accessible. It's a shot in the dark but maybe a member or a members friend has an old copy of the manual laying around.

The receiver was made in China, as most are, and seems to be working, to a point. All the on-screen functions seem to respond and the amount of fine tuning that can be made is mind boggling. Yesterday while the receiver was connected to the DirecTV dish with it's own LNB the receiver was showing both signal strength and quality up to 70%, but no channels could be received. Today I installed a KU band LNB and now the quality meter shows nothing. I made a bracket out of ABS fittings to hold the new LNB at the same angle as the original from DirecTV and set the face of the LNB with 1/2" of the distance the old one was. The dish is set at 131 degrees, maybe this is the reason. I'll try moving the dish a bit tonight.
