Odd smell prompts Kellogg cereal recall
CHICAGO, (UPI) -- Kellogg Co. announced a voluntary recall of some of its breakfast cereals because of a smell coming from the inner box liner.

The company said the recall involved certain lots of Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Honey Smacks and Froot Loops that included "KN" in the product numbers.

A company spokesman told the Chicago Tribune that "KM" lots and products sold in Canada were not included in the recall.

Kellogg said in a written statement that the odor and an off-flavor were not a major cause for alarm but could cause nausea and diarrhea.
