Rail worker injured in vehicle collision

A Canadian Pacific Railway worker has been struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in Caledon, Ont.

The 31-year-old man was working near the level crossing on Albion-Vaughan Road north of Industrial Road about 8 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by the northbound vehicle, police said.

The man suffered serious injuries to his head and legs. He was taken to Brampton Civic Hospital, where he was in serious but stable condition on Sunday.

The 64-year-old Caledon man driving the vehicle was not injured.

Police aren't releasing the name of the injured worker until his family has been told.
