RRSat on Galaxy 25, Arianespace Launch, ProtoStar

RRSat has launched an additional platform on the Galaxy 25 satellite, a service aimed at direct-to-home viewers and cable operators. The Galaxy 25 satellite is located at 97 degrees and is known for its large ethnic video programming slate. RRsat said it transmits more than 40 TV and radio channels through the service --- Arianespace and Thales Alenia Space announced that they won a contract for the launch of the pan-African communications satellite Rascom-QAF 1R. The spacecraft is scheduled for launch into geostationary transfer orbit in 2010. It will fly aboard either an Ariane 5 or Soyuz rocket from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana --- The International Telecommunications Union's Radiocommunication Bureau issued a statement to all 113 member nations confirming that the ProtoStar I satellite is operating within applicable ITU rules and regulations since its July launch.
