Sheen has 4 options in abuse case
ASPEN, Colo., (UPI) -- Lawyers for Charlie Sheen and prosecutors reached agreement on four options for resolving the U.S. actor's domestic violence case, TMZ.com reported Friday.
The "Two and a Half Men" star now must decide which way to go, the celebrity-tracking Web site said.
A hearing is scheduled for June 7 in addition to a June 18 court date in Sheen's alleged December assault on his wife Brooke Mueller. The trial is scheduled for June 21.
Under one option, Sheen would plead guilty to a misdemeanor and serve 30 days in an Aspen, Colo., jail. With good behavior, actual time in jail could be down to 17 days, TMZ.com said.
Another option would have Sheen pleading guilty to a misdemeanor and placed on probation for two years.
Under a third scenario, Sheen would receive a "deferred prosecution," meaning the case would not go forward but the actor would agree to various conditions. After a certain period of time, Sheen's record would be expunged, the celebrity Web site said.
The last option would be to proceed to trial.
