The recalled back and muscle pain relief tablets, acetaminophen, and sinus medications were all store-brand products.
The manufacturer of over-the-counter painkillers is voluntarily recalling several lots from Canadian stores as a precaution, Health Canada says.
The recall applies to six products such as store-brand acetaminophen tablets, sinus medications, and muscle and back pain relief medications from Shoppers, Rexall, Loblaws and Jean Coutu.
Pharmetics Inc.'s recall Tuesday resulted from Health Canada's inspections of the company's Laval, Que., manufacturing site.
During the inspection, "deficiencies related to the production line were detected, including possible contamination between the product lines and some products labelled with the wrong expiry dates," the regulator said.
Standards and practices for manufacturing, testing, storage, handling and distribution are meant to ensure quality control and manage risks.
There have been no reports of anyone being hurt by the recalled drugs, Health Canada said.
