What to do about Sony Vegas' problem with .m2ts files?

Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 seems to be very particular about importing the AVCHD files with extensions like .m2ts, .mts and .m2t. In other words, it sometimes will, but prefers not to. But it's supposed to be able to. I have Windows XP.Any new info about this issue? Thanks.

i don't really what is a .m2ts files but i know the solution. does it stands for Advanced Video Coding High Definition or something like this :d. any way video editing applications don't allow users to import this kinds of video because of high require CPU usage. if you you import one of this files and add just one effect to the video your PC will hang and you need to restart it, so you need to convert them in to an other format witch make file size bigger but decrease CUP usage. i suggest you WMV. you need an encoder to do this.
