New X2 Dongle Firmware for Jan 7, 2010

IKS Server Updates - Please Read to ensure you have TV

This Thursday (January 7th, 2010) we will be changing IKS Server providers.
We are making this change to ensure a higher level of service, and to prepare
for the future growth in 2010.
To use the new IKS Server, the only change you will need to make is to the firmware
of your X2 dongle.
To update your Dongle:
1) Download this zip file of updated firmware (attached below)
2) Use the WizNet Configuration utility to load one of the firmware files to the dongle. For those with more than one dongle I've provided 10 unique Firmware (each firmware provides a unique Mac Address).
3) Once loaded you will be connected to the server.
The new server will be available to replace the old server on January 7th, 2010 @ 12:00am.
These new Rom bins for the Sonysats are to be uploaded only after the servers have been moved and after Jan 7, 2010,
only way to communicate with new server.
There are 10 rom bins there.
Unless you have more than one X2 Dongle and Sonysat receiver,
rom00.bin is recommended.
if one has 2 Receivers with X2 Dongle then use rom01
if they have 3 Receivers with X2 Dongles then use rom02
ad so on.
Why you may ask?
each of these rom bins have a unique MAC Address and they must be different so the Router can assign them with an IP Address.
Presently every X2 DOngle out there has the exact same MAC address?
Why you may ask again?
Well just another ingenious idea by Sonysat.... you see if there are 14,000 or 15,000 Sonysats out here using an X2 Dongle with the exact same MAC Address....... how can any determine who is connected to what and receiving what from where...... only by IPs and many IPs cahnge each time one connects......Cable do not but mny DSL do.
Every other IKS solution out there using Dongles or built in Ethernet adapters all have their own Unique MAC Address, that I am aware of....... getting the picture now?
