DISH Intros Remote DVR Features, Promises Sling Functionality

Jumping onto a feature bandwagon that other providers have been offering for months, DISH Network on Friday launched a new remote access service that allows its customers to manage their home DISH Network DVR from anywhere in the world.
The free web-based service, titled DISH Remote Access, includes all of the features of the user's DVR remote control along with comprehensive program search tools. The company also announced that the upcoming ViP 922 HD DVR will include built-in Slingbox technology ... finally linking that Sling Media acquisition to the flagship business.
According to DISH, the new DISH Remote Access service is compatible with the ViP 922, ViP 722k, ViP 722, ViP 622 and ViP 612 HD DVRs.
