I just got a computer assembled (after having the components sitting around for a while). My graphics card is an Asus Radeon 4850 and I've been getting a lot of blue screens.I've only had the computer for two days, so I haven't managed to gather the hugest amount of information. However, as it stands, when I start the computer in safe mode, I don't suffer from any errors. When I start the computer in normal mode, more often than not it will blue screen, citing 'an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed' as part of the problem. Nevertheless, it does sometimes work and at first, when it did, it worked fine. However, recently even after start up I have suffered a couple of blue screens and, in what may be related, I once got an error message saying something to the effect of 'atikmdag stopped responding and has recovered'.With the evidence at hand, is it likely that these errors should be fixable by messing around with the drivers? Or is there any possibility that I'll need to bring someone to actually tinker with the hardware? When attempting to update from windows device manager, it says the drivers are up-to-date. The driver version listed is 8.511.0.0.
