i have a acer with a geforce 9600mgt the drivers offered to vista home premium are old yet the drivers offered for the same product with windows 7 is new.so is it safe if i use the windows 7 drivers on my vista home premium (if i use the drivers from nvidia, some features offered to me from the acer are gone so original drivers are the only option right now. )can some one please help me with this ?

The driver models are the same so it MAY work but there is no guarantees. Not to mention the driver may not install because it is an earlier version of O/S.I would create a restore point, try to install them. If it screws up your system go back to the restore point.

Since Vista and 7 are under the same kernel,I would say it will work. Try it you can't do any damage,if you think there is something wrong with the new driver you can always hit that"roll back driver" button

It should, but the best way to get the best drivers for them is go to Device Manager from Control Panel, drop down the hard ware you wanted to update, right click, check for driver update or install driver, and there it go, it should work. (If you have internet with you, better. No internet, no luck until to you can find driver for it)
