How can I export my entire itunes library to an external harddrive?

I have almost 10,000 songs in my itunes library, and they are slowing down my computer. I would like to export them all to an external harddrive to free up space on my computer. Ideally I would like to have my entire itunes collection on the external harddrive and then whenever I want to listen to music on my computer I would just plug the harddrive into the computer and listen through that. How can I do this?

The songs shouldn't make your computer slower, they should just take up space. You probably need more memory or a faster processor.If you want, you can just go into My Music (or whereever your music is stored) and cut and paste onto another drive. Then start up ITunes like normal and select the files from the new drive to play.
