Installed new operating system and lost all drivers?

I installed windows vista on my laptop and now i cant access the internet. I reinstalled windows xp but i still have the same issue i dont have a network driver. I have tried connecting a ethernet wire but still no internet. I dont know what to do, I am considering of take my computer to a computer repair shop. Does anybody know how to fix this issue.

yes you have to download or load your network adapter driver and all the other drivers for your laptop

When you reinstall or reformat an OS you will usually need to completely install every device driver. These can be found at your manufacturer's website. if the computer is a Dell or a brand name, virtually everything you need can be downloaded from their support locations using the service tag or model numbers.If you have a custom built computer it can be more difficult and you will probably have to track down each device individually. I would recommend you start with the motherboard, as this will often include, chipset, usb, audio, networking, and video drivers. This is the bulk of your missing software. If you don't have brand name support, find out the name of your motherboard, consult the manual or physically read it, go to their website> drivers and technical support > and using the motherboards manual locate the software for your specific device and download the drivers for the appropriate operating system.Note: You will need to repeat this step with every piece of hardware that you need to install.

Operating systems work on virtually everything but each computer configuration with its unique hardware needs its own drivers. Drivers don't come with Microsoft Windows they must be installed either from the CD that came with your system( not the OS CD) or you can download them from the manufacturer's support site. If you have added hardware you need to add drivers for that from the CD that came with your hardware,or from that specific hardware manufactures support site. If you upgraded to Vista I recommend going on the support sites and be sure to specify that you want a Vista driver. You may have to download several drivers individually. When I do this I burn them to a CD. You have to download on a computer that currently has internet. If you have a recovery disk that includes the old OS you may have to use DOS prompt to access the disk with you drivers and they might work with Vista. Some of mine did. I forgot there is one more way for the recovery CD at computer right click the correct drive and click explore. You should be able to find drivers.
