One person has been killed after being struck by a streetcar in Toronto's west end Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011.

A man was killed after being struck and dragged by a streetcar in Toronto's west end on Tuesday.
Toronto's Emergency Medical Services confirmed a man was killed after being struck by a streetcar along Queen Street near Shaw Street, just east of Ossington Avenue, at around 10:30 a.m.
Witnesses at the scene said the man was caught under the back of the streetcar and dragged for some distance.
A woman who had been on board the streetcar at the time told CTV Toronto that she saw a police officer waving toward the streetcar moments before it stopped.
Bystander Wallace Maitland said he spotted what appeared to be a bunch of rags under the streetcar's back wheels. "And then I saw an arm come out," he said.
Queen Street was Closed west of Bathurst Street to Manning Avenue during the police investigation Tuesday morning.
Pedestrians were not allowed along the stretch of road as police investigated the scene.
Streetcars are being diverted south along King Street.
