OTTAWA - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency's warning this week to not eat some ready-to-eat meat products is expanding to include more products.
The CFIA and Montreal deli-food producer Dats Deli Europeen are warning the public not to consume ready-to-eat meat products marketed under the Dat's Deli Europeen, Les Caprices d'Al Adhba and Les Viandes Soleil brands.
Dats Deli Europeen is voluntarily recalling the sliced and unsliced products _ which include old-fashioned smoked meat, seasoned roast beef, smoked turkey breast and liverwurst sausage _ because they may be contaminated with Listeria.
The recalled products are sold in various sizes, bearing Establishment number 155 and have best before dates up to and including August 29, 2010.
These products are known to have been distributed in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia and may have been distributed nationally.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products, which may also have been sold to consumers at deli counters.
