MLB: Pittsburgh 6, Colorado 2

DENVER, Garrett Jones hit two home runs Wednesday and Pittsburgh survived the early exit of Ross Ohlendorf to beat Colorado 6-2 for the Rockies eighth straight loss.

Ohlendorf, who has won only one of his nine decisions this year, had a runner on first and two out in the opening inning when he was hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of Troy Tulowitzki.

The Pittsburgh starter was able to walk off the field under his own power, but the Pirates had to immediately turn to their bull pen and eventually used seven pitchers.

Sean Gallagher (1-0) replaced Ohlendorf and worked three scoreless innings to get his first win of the season in his 20th appearance.

Jones hit a solo homer in the second to tie it at 1-1 and the Pirates then scored four times in the third -- two of the runs coming in on a single by Neil Walker. Jones added a solo shot in the eighth.

The loss went to Aaron Cook (4-7), who allowed five runs on six hits in 2 1/3.
