SAN FRANCISCO, (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum continued to climb out of his slump with a second straight solid outing Friday in lifting the San Francisco Giants to a 6-2 win over Oakland.

Lincecum (6-2) held the Athletics to two runs on seven hits and struck out seven over eight innings.

It was his first victory since he captured his fifth straight win to start the season on May 20. Since then, he had gone 0-2 in four starts with a 6.85 ERA, although he held Pittsburgh to three runs in a no-decision Sunday.

Pat Burrell hit a two-run homer in the third and Bengie Molina had another one in the sixth to key the San Francisco offense.

The Giants opened a homestand after losing the final two games of a 4-3 road trip.

Gio Gonzalez (6-4) suffered the loss, giving up four runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings.
