SEATTLE, (UPI) -- Leo Gonzalez, Steve Zakuani and Fredy Montero each notched first-half goals Saturday to pace the Seattle Sounders to a 3-0 win over New England.

Gonzalez gave Seattle (4-5-3) all the offense it would need when he pounced on a loose ball on the right side of the New England penalty area and smacked it past goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth for his first marker of the season.

Zakuani found the net in the 24th minute and Montero rounded out the scoring with a tally in the 42nd minute in front of more than 36,000 fans at Qwest Field.

The Revolution fell to 3-7-2 going into the World Cup break.

Seattle will host D.C. United Thursday before going on the two-week hiatus.
