WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A New York man gave $1,000 to three strangers whose expensive Black Friday purchases were stolen in West Palm Beach.
Kerry Ann Brown and her two friends waited in line outside Best Buy for almost two days to buy a laptop and a desktop on Black Friday.
Hours later, those same computers were stolen from Brown's car in a parking lot across the street.
"For me, it's all Blue Friday," one of Brown's friends remarked after the theft.
Alan Howard, who owns an appliance store in Long Island, N.Y., posted a message after seeing the story. It said he would replace up to $1,000 worth of merchandise that was stolen.
"I overnighted her a check for $1,000 -- Merry Christmas," Howard said.
Brown thanked Howard for his generous donation.
"I didn't know people were like that in the world," Brown said.
Brown said she will use the money to repurchase the computers and send them back to her family in Jamaica.
