- First plug in your hard drive. It should say USB mounted device.
- Press the Ok button on the remote.
- Menu down to record.
- Over and down to Hard Disc Format.
- Press Ok.
- Insert password.
- Screen appears put check mark in it automatically goes down to start format.
- Press Ok.
- Screen appears says Partition Set.
- Click Ok.
- Screen appears HDD Format. All recordings will be erased. Are you sure?
- Move over to YES press Ok.
- Screen now reads HDD Format Please wait a moment.
