my problem is reciever is going nutso

What i would try first, is re-flash with the factory bin, then re-load the current one. If that was not the problem feel the top for heat. If the unit is overheating then it will do that as well.. 3rd and final i would then check your coax cable. if there is a short in the cable to your LNB then it too will make your reciever go nuts.

It turned out the wires in the unit were touching causing it to glitch like that.Opened the back moved the wires and now its working like a charm.thanks for your imput

Well, i have never heard of that but i will add it to the list. Thanks for your input and solution to the problem.
