Plat's are good recievers. I say the extreme for only one reason. Hardware blind scan, and hardware h-h control. The plats are a lot harder to set up advanced systems. PLat's are software driven, fine if you only run 1 or 2 sats but try to setup multiple sat's or run acc's. I have had nothing but issues.
The ultra is a really fast reciever great for the USB but has the worst motor control i have ever seen. After playing with it for a few hours i felt like tossing it out the 2nd floor window.
The 9000 works for HD but need to upgade it to recieve the new standard of HD
And then it comes down the to the extreme. I use it to run my 40" dish and not for 2 years i have never had one issue.
