I just got these three 650 classics and am having a little trouble. When I hook them straight to the box it asks for a serial number so I put it in. I set up the box and get channels. I than load the latest bin and than thats when things get bad. I turn the box back on and everything is like fuzzy. All the words look fuzzy. I enable the fix but still nothing. And on one channel there is some dude talking about me trying to use something other than a dish box to get dish tv. What am I doing wrong. I am using the 650upgrade v1.02 loader. And the latest fix classic 1.73. It seems to load fine but like I said weird things after I load the fix. Can anyone please help. I have tried two boxes now and still the same problem on both. I even loaded the factory bin on one and started all over. Fixed the fuzzy but again after I load the fix, get fuzzy and still no picture.

DID YOU FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTION BEFORE YOU SEARCH FOR YOUR SAT'S IF YOU DID NOT THEN THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM ........

ENTERING the SERIAL NUMBER into the CW-650/700/800

WARNING!! You get one chance to do this right, and can brake your receiver. Do it carefully!
With the rear power switch off, turn over the receiver and carefully write down the serial number, should look similar to “CW7S123456789“, carefully VERIFY the copied number.
Return the receiver to it correct position and plug in USB memory stick with the current program on it and power up the receiver.

The below are done with the remote control.
Push and release "STB"
Push and release "USB"
A "USB" Screen will popup with a list of programs on the USB Memory stick.
Using Arrows UP/DN carefully select the correct program and OK
Screen asks "Do you want to update the software/database?" Using the right arrow select "Yes" and "OK"
Let the receivers display count down on the display until the displays says "-End"
The display asks "Do You want to reboot the receiver" using arrow Right select "Yes"` and "OK".
A new screen will popup asking you to enter the serial number. The number display area is very faint at the bottom of the screen. Using the previously written down serial number, using the remote contriols numerical keys you enter the last 9 digits or start at the 5th character from the left in this example "123456789" would be used. These numbers will appear at the bottom of the screen, if you make a mistake with a digit entry you can use arrow left to go back. When all digits are entered, you verify and "OK". The receiver will ask you to repeat the serial number input, repeat it, and "OK". If done correctly you should now be watching TV

IF YOU DID NOT FOLLOW THE STEP'S UBOVE THEN IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK ANY MORE.....

I do believe that I got the serial numbers in correct. The first box I did I took it out the box and installed the latest fix, than hooked to tv. Turn on box it asked for the serial. It rebooted and than thats when I got all of the fuzzy. and still no tv. the second box I set up first on the tv. right out of the box hooked to tv. turn on box and it ask for serial, before I even put any patch on it. enter serial rebooted. Set up sats. got channel lineup. install patch hooked back to tv (mine does not have a usb on the sat box) turn on box and got fuzzy, and no tv. So than I take both boxes put factory bin on. fuzzy gone. took the advice of on tutoral and install old version of patch that was made before march, than install latest patch. did that no fuzzy looks good. enable patch but still no tv. says channel scrabled, even the ones that are fta. so i am at a loss. I still have one more box. would like to know what I am doing wrong. would like to salvage at least one box. One other question. Since these are being such a pain. what boxes would you recommend on my next purchase?

Yes these were brand new boxes. First one I did I hooked it to tv. As soon as I turned on the box it asked me to put in the serial. So I did. I went to set up to make sure I had signal. Download the load than new fix. Installed new fix. Got the fuzzy. Started asking around. So I downloaded and installed the factory bin, installed 1.64 bin, than 1.73 bin wich is the latest fix right? Now I hooked everything back up and no fuzzy but still get scrambled channels. Even the free ones like Nasa. Now I rebooted the box from the back left the channel on Nasa, when it rebooted Nasa was fine, but no other channels. I changed box to another channel, rebooted box. Channel still says scrambled and lost Nasa as well. I do have one more box, and dont really want to mess this one up to. What have I done wrong. The serial numbers were enterd in. I found the serial number on the bottom of the box and also on a card that came with the box. The second box that I had I put in the fix first than hooked it to the tv. It asked for serial number. so i entered it in. when it rebooted had fuzzy.But when I do the loading like I did from factory to 1.64 to 1.73 fuzzy is gone from both but no tv. Please help.

110W
12224/v/20000/516 = Transponder
LNB Freq = 11250
LNB Type = Normal
22KHZ = off
Diseqc = LNB2

119 W
12224/v/20000/5/6m = Transponder
LNB Freq = 11250
LNB Type = Normal
22kHz = off
Diseqc = LNB1

I was messing with it after your post. When I tried to rescan the sats and this now my free channels are coming in fine without a problem. But scrambled still scrambled. I have turned off and turned on the patch numerous times.
Please help. Like I said I have one more box. I really dont want this one dead too. So please give me any ideas you have.
Just for future reference, what is the proper way to do this? What bin do I put on it first? Do I put the bin on first and than look for sats? Just wondering how I messed this up.

what kind of dish do u have if you have a dishpro then LNB Type = should be ocs-dp instead of Normal

also there is a problem on your settings is the 22khz shoul be set to Auto....not off...

change it and then get out of the settings turn receiver off from rear wait 5 minutes then turn back on put on channel 239 for about 15 to 20 minutes with out changeing it....then everything should be all right.....

Still no dice. I let it set on 239 for about 30 minutes. changed everything like you said, and still no tv. the free ones come in but everything else says scrambled. just wondering. since my boxes asked for a serial number before a fix was even put on them, would that cause this bins to think that i havn't put the serial in or does it look for it on its own? What bin am I suppose to put on it first. Like right out of the box? So that it can recognize my inputing the serial.

the reason your getting only those channel it's because the patch is not enable

I just re-posted the files you need incase they were bad below is the firmware and the classic uploader do factory reset on the receiver ....download the 650 loader then download the 650 firmware unzip it then put on loader...and then load it to the receiver then load the file do not do factory reset after this just enable patch (000) rescan sat 119 lnb 1 and after 110 as lnb 2

do some research around and see what is the receiver you like because All the Captive works are very easy to install....don't know why you are having so much trouble with it.......
