Yamaha RX-V1300 receiver problem

I've had a Yamaha RX-V1300 receiver for six years without encountering any problems. Last night I switched the setting from CBSAT to DVD and listended to a CD before turning in. This afternoon, I switched the setting by remote from DVD to CBSAT. The change showed on the remote, but did not change on the receiver. I then manually switched the receiver. While it changed on the receiver's face, the actual setting did not change and I'm unable to get sound from my satellite system. I plan to change batteries in the remote later today. However, does it sound like a remote problem or that something is wrong with the receiver? Thanks forr any help.

Problem solved. Some dummy, either one of our cats or more likely myself, hit the 6-channel button on the remote and that screwed the deal up. Thanks to those of you who thought about my problem.
