Hey there,I can get you through this with little problems. However, you have to read the instructions. Sorry.Okay here goes. Your wireless router should have at least 5 ethernet ports on the back of it. They are those things that look like giant telephone plugs. One of them is label WAN and the rest LAN.The ethernet cable from the cable modem MUST go into the WAN port of the wireless router. Then you need another cable to go from one of your LAN ports to your computer.Out of the box, usually DHCP is turned on. If it is not, the instructions should show you what ip address to give your workstation in order to configure it.Once you set your workstation address, you should be able to open a web browser and type the address of the wireless router into the Address box. Usually this address is something like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. This should get you to some sort of authentication screen. The username and password is in the instructions and is different for each model of wireless device.Once in there, you can configure a myriad of different things. Probably the most important thing, right off the bat, to configure is DHCP, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. This is what hands out DORA requests to connect to your network.Once you are at this point, you need to configure your wireless system. Please read the instructions for that. I would suggest that you start without security and then add it in.Good luck.Tom
