How are keys used and how do they differ from BIN files ?

I'm running a Pansat 2700A

These are some keys the keys change now & then they go into code section it Menu Nagra II Not the same as Bin or Files but we need them never the less ..........I hope this helps you I your learning quest..........CHEERS Face

Well Jim I thought I'd Leave it a little complicate lol any way even it you have current bin# the box has a key menu which is nagra II codes usely when auto roll works you never have to worry about them sometimes the auto roll in the bin file quits working & if you wait till the new bin comes out you still don't have to worry about it . but while waiting you can manually put current keys into box if you search on site it will how how to install keys in last post is some Keys for different providers Hope to shed some light on the question ... Cheers

so should auto roll be turned off when the unit continues to freeze to keep it from searching for new keys when the ones on it are working? i have an ev magnum was working great but appears to be searching for new keys or something and freezes for a couple minutes then goes back to working. i am confused about the bin files vs adding keys as well. seems now i 0nly add new bins but in the past it was manually adding keys. never new why i didnt need to add keys anymore. sorry for my ignorance but i am learning all the time! julie

Thanks again, I think I have a better idea of how this works now, I appreciate the help.
Mind you, everything is working fine right now, it might be a different story when it quits, we'll worry about when the time comes ... LOL

I am new to the FTA. Is it your gear cardless? I just got a converted bell 2700 and using ATMEGA. I can get the signal from dish#119 and over 60 bars, but on the TV keep showing "acquiring sigal". Do you have any idea?

yes all programers will have a new challange on there hands we will probably be down for a couple of months....this is about the estimated down time....we will just have to wait and see......
