More Local HD for DIRECTV
On Wednesday, DIRECTV launched local HD services for customers in four markets: Charleston, S.C., Norfolk-Newport News, Va., Savannah, Ga., and Springfield-Holyoke, Mass.
The effort brings the number of markets with local HD offerings from the satellite TV company to 98.
DIRECTV said that by the end of 2008 it plans to provide local HD broadcast channels in more than 121 cities, representing about 88 percent of U.S. TV households.
