This is not the problem. I can't get the 7000 loader to come up on my computer so i can down load the file before i installed norton i had a icon on my desktop that was cs7000 loader and i can't get it to come back on my desktop so i can open the file and download
Thanks for yor help Woodgal

If you have a jump drive, you shouldn't need the loader. Just save the file, unzip and send the unzipped version to your jump drive. Plug it in to your CS7100, a window should open on your tv screen telling you to hit the red button to download the highlighted file. (hope this helps.)

Does your computer have a usb port? It is also called a flash drive. It's an external storage device that plugs into a usb port. There are two on the CS7100 - one on the front and one on the back. Makes it really easy to update. If you don't have a usb, you can find the loader program in the coolsat files section of this forum. it was posted by CASPER7 on 11/24/08.

Also, if you got the CS7100 new in the box, it usually comes with a black 1gb flash drive storage device. If you have that, and a usb port on your computer, first plug the drive into your CS7100. Go the the menu, utilities, usb. There you will see "format" hit that to format the flash drive. Then take it to your computer, download the latest fix. Extract the zipped file. Then, right click on the unzipped file. a drop box will appear. click "send to" and choose whatever drive the flash drive is plugged into. On the bottom line of your computer screen, towards the right, there should be an icon that when you put the cursor on, it will say "safely remove hardware" left click on that and then choose the drive that your flash drive is plugged in to. Then you will get the message "Can safely remove hardware from ..." whatever drive you chose. I apologize if this is too detailed, but just making sure i give you all the details.
