this is relatively easy problem, but wondering if anybody else had this problem. my remote on a Pansat 2700a started acting goofy yesterday. only a few buttons will work, and is intermittent as to which ones. turned unit off with remote, and power switch on back over night. replaced batteries, although, I'm not sure the ones I put in are good since I use rechargeable batteries. I'm working on getting this problem fixed, but it seems that when the problem was starting, I could twist the remote and it would start working for a few seconds; almost like twisting corrected a break in the circuit board of the remote.
if the fresh batteries don't fix the problem, that leaves the remote or the main unit being bad. was wondering if anybody has experience with where I might be able to purchase a new remote if it comes to that if you think that might be the problem.
thank you in advance.

try removing the batteries first after they are out press each button at least one time until you have press all buttons insert the battery's back and try it. also try using duracell they are better than rechargables.

then if you can move channels and menu manually on the receiver than it is not your receiver

if that don't work then you might need a new receiver you can get an fta remote at a electronic shop or any sponsor that is here..

also look in your local area were fta's are sold....

this post is from a friend that is using pansat ....

Walmart universal remotes

just bought a universal remote from walmart, a cheap RCA i found for 7$...does pansat, fortec, dreambox.

my brother bought a Philips one from walmart for 9$ and it does dreambox, pansat and fortec as well.

just a suggestion, incase someone breaks a remote and needs a spare until their 100$+ uber remote with the LCD screen comes in

thought this might make u decide...

I appreciate the help. I've done a few more things since I posted this original message. I did put in Duracell batteries before the recommendation was made, and it didn't help. but I haven't taken batteries out and pressed all buttons yet.
but have put in new bin code. worked for about 2 minutes...fully functional, then the same problems reoccurred. over all, no matter what happens, it just seems as though that if I don't use the remote for several hours that it will start working completely again. but after about 30 minutes of use, it goes back to slowly using functionality of it; then no use at all.
but I like the recommendation of a new remote. but I would lose some functionality, but is better than nothing. have to remember how much i gain instead of what I lose.

spyrofan just saw Yesterday a GE universat Remote wich works on FTA Receivers for only $4.95 at Walmart.

You might want to check that out.
