Ok, so ive had this problem EVER SINCE I GOT MY XBOX which was bout 2 years ago.Ive NEVER been able get a connection between my computer and my xbox.I use Ethernet connection and the ethernet goes from the xbox to the router and my computer goes from ethernet to my router....I have a BT Home Hub 2.0 (the black one)I have my Xbox's IP, Subnet, gateway, DNS ectt..... and i have my computers one ect...I jsut want to know how the **** to get them all together and let them share... im guessing i just need to add them into my router somehow because it seems like thats the problem atm.I have Windows XPI have Windows Media Player 11I have everything connected and all of them are turned on.I can get on the internet fine with both of them.Help would be GREATLY appreciated.

ethernet needs to go directly from your pc to your xbox, i use wireless internet and bridge it to the ethernet. and then to transfer media set up from xbox media centre settings.

ema isnt right, whilst this is true and possible yes, it isnt necessary and you can use your router with in built rj45 switch to do it for you (which u WILL have on your router as u described but in simpler terms.what you need to do is:connect them all as u described above, go onto your computer and open windows media player, right click on the blue space to the left of the 'now playing' tab and get the menu for file, options etc. on that menu list should be a thing called media sharing. open that and then turn on media sharing, in this box there should also be a few icons one of which will say xbox360 and look caguely like it, click on that and then click ALLOW. you then need to click okay and close down windows media player. open my documents and go to the folders you want to share, such as music/pictures and right click on their icon, then click share or an option that has something to do with sharing ;)then you need to go onto your xbox and go into settings-network/computers and then set up a connection to your PC. this should go through your router and from your router into your pc and a connection should be established (you may want to try rebooting ur xbox after u have finished on your computer before you try this step)when all this is done, reboot ur pc and xbox and then try to open your music files from your xbox, it should work fine, and internet should be working on both :DYOU WILL NEED BOTH PC AND XBOX ON for u to share files :Dgood luck mate hope this helped.
