Here is the answer... Turn to dishnet as they have not started niragra3 yet. Niagra 3 is the new smartcards issued by B3v AND do not kidd yerself soon dish will have them too but for the time being dish is running. Take full advantage of it...

Please note.... if tuneing to Echostar 119, change your transponder to something other then 12224 as 12224 is spotbeamed and will just annoy you.

I am still confused. I have a viewsat ultra. I have re-aimed my dish to point at Echo 110. Now what exactly do I do to get my viewsat to change over to DN. eg. menu-information-???

OK valid point... Step by step on how to..

1. re-aim your dish outside. this can be done by going into your antena setup and selecting one of the echostar sat's.. 119 is most of the hbo'S AND movie networks. Echo 10,11 is some movies and ppv and echo 5 is HD. Select one and then use the sat calculator in the 1st post to re-aim until you get signal and quality.

** note if trying for echo 7 change your transponder **

2. after locking on, do a auto scan. Blind scans work but with the lates fix you already have the freq's and the s/r's programed in so auto scan works a lot faster and no doubles.

3. let it autoroll and you should be set.

This is awesome information, since still a little sat slow...but now with the bev situation...will bin files become available for the the new 3rd sat..
Or is that wishfull thinking??? Any insight would be greatly appreciated..
Also what would you set the transponder if aiming for echo 7?

Well, b3v did not launch a new sat. They preformed a smartcard switch and upgraded to Niagra 3. All old and current programs for b3v are for the Niagra 2 encryption.

Brief history...

1st hack.. b3v and dish ran battery cards on niagravision, rom 3.
2nd hack, plastic fix with opening of rom 10 and rom 3 (first smart card upgrade) Introduction of FTA recievers and dvb cards.
3rd hack niagra 2, (second smartcard upgrade) rom 101 and 102's
FTA were soon adapted and running.
4th well there is no current hack for niagra 3 yet. Rest assured that soon DN will switch over as well so it's just now a matter of time. Time to open the new cards and time left until DN switched completely over.

As for the transponder on echo 7 should be changed to either one up or down but no signal if left on 12224...
