[Problem!] DISEqC Switch BLOWING!

I have had more DISEqe Switches blown, than Monica lewinski blew presidents!

I updated the new file and was watching for about 15 mins and then, NO SIGNAL. When I go back to the ant set up. I have no Q or S!

Replacing the switch seems to fix the problem, BUT I have replaced almost 10 switches now. Yes I know how to turn the power off, and how to handle them ect... I was wondering if there is something I am over looking.

I could not find the Viewsat switches so I am using the ROC brand. I was blowing the viesat also.

I am running a 3 lnb dish from the DN and have a 9000 hd with the psk installed. It worked great for a very long time and just started this problem recently.

Any ideas?

alvee this sound like you are taking the cable off of your receiver while your bax is still in services and on,,, you are subpose to turn off the system by the switch and unplug the box and you must hook up your cable 1st. before you plug the box in,,, I hope this help you... if you don't have that box unplug when ever you remove the cable it will blow the switch every time...

You might want to check your cable for a bad place and check all your connections to make sure they are good. If they have been in use for a long time, one might be coroded.

Sounds more like a short in one of the connectors------Corrosion causes loss of signal and quality but doesn't usually blow switches.
My advice-------Take the whole cable system apart and find the short circuit.

Thanks I was trying to avoid that, but I guess I will take it all apart and see whats up... we have been getting tons of rain the past few days, it was happening before the rain, but that whats keeping me from fixin it right now I guess, I will post how it comes out

i use to have issues like that...my switch wouldnt last long being outside...even tho they say it is made for outdoors
so what i did was...
i got myself a small electical box with rubber seals these things are specifically made for outdoors ....and it keep out rain, snow, moisture...etc.. i put the switch into that box to protect it
never had any more problems... and that was back in the nagra2 days and it is still working

Thanks for all the tips.... It was still raining and I did not feel like messing around with the cables in the rain so I figured I would take an F to F barrel and hook one of the LNBs straight to the box... LOW AND BEHOLD all 3 LNBs worked. I have a 3 lnb dish from DN, and I remember back when I had my ultra I needed the switch. so I guess now I dont cause everything has been working great for a week! hd9000

you should of gone with a Dishpro500 or 1000 avoid the switches..I have 4 of them they are up on Ebay.
